SpiderBoom, un nuovo concetto di lavoro in quota!
AlmaCrawler presents Spiderboom: a new line of self-propelled tracked aerial platforms
AlmaCrawler continues to push the boundaries of equipment manufacturing!
Internationally recognized for offering innovative, versatile and complementary product ranges which respect high safety standards and are able to satisfy even the most demanding requests for everyday operations, a few days after its eighth anniversary, AlmaCrawler is presenting the BILLENNIUM series.
The new BILLENNIUM range is the result of research and design that have overcome traditional norms, introducing a new family of self-propelled tracked aerial platforms to the market, the Spiderbooms. The goal to create a single product that combined key features of self-propelled aerial platforms on wheels and stabilized tracked aerial platforms, led AlmaCrawler to develop this new range which offers a morphologically unique product with a simpler User Experience and superior market adaptability, catering to both the professional end user and the rental sector.
The initial offer is two models, B1570 and B1890 with a working height of 15 & 18m respectively and two different types of automatic stabilization, fixed (VISUAL) or variable (QUICK-PRO). There are three power options available: petrol engine (ETS version), diesel engine (EVO version) and full electric lithium (LTH version).
All versions will showcase typical size compactness (minimum width 0.78m) and a competitive maximum weight (2600 ÷ 2900 kg) to ensure transportability on traditional trailers.
The BILLENNIUM models offer an operating outreach of 10 and 11 meters depending on the model and a maximum load capacity in the basket of 230 and 250kg thanks to the following AlmaCrawler new technological and innovative features:
– SPS (Self-Propelled Skilled System) – This new patent-pending system allows the use of the machine even without lowering the stabilizers, on slopes up to 10° longitudinally and up to 5° laterally. The platform can safely and directly be used up to 9m working height thanks to the advanced control and leveling systems of the machine.
– AWP (Adaptive Working Performance) – This new patent-pending system allows for the optimization of the operational outreach, this performance being determined by checking the actual stabilization area in real time.
– Automatic Stabilization – All BILLENNIUM models are equipped with the automatic stabilization system as standard. Two choices:
- A) VISUAL – Automatic stabilization with fixed area;
- B) Quick-PRO – Fully Automated Stabilization with Variable Areas which offers 6 different machine positioning combinations, simple to choose through the appropriate selector; by automatically interacting with the AWP system, it guarantees the operator the best possible outreach performance;
– Undercarriage XXL – Specifically designed to increase safety in the daily loading / unloading and moving of the platform, all the while respecting the typical compactness characteristics (variable track 0.79 ÷ 1.39 m and undercarriage length greater than 2 m).
– ATS (Automatic Tensioner System) – “ZERO MAINTENANCE” hydraulic system for automatic tensioning of the track, unique in its kind.
– TASKET BASKET – Resizable basket that does not require disassembly to go through narrow passages, conforming to the minimum width of the aerial platform (0.79m) and ensuring a comfortable use for two operators.
– WINCH – Also on the BILLENNIUM series, the traditional AlmaCrawler Winch can be used to lift and / or handle loads up to 200kg (WINCH KIT SERIES 200).

Case Study – Inspectec
Inspectec, Irish company based in Naas, Co. Kildare, has been in the AWP sector for more than 20 years. The partnership with AlmaCrawler only started six months ago during a difficult time. Inspectect are selling machines during a global pandemic that has forced Ireland into a massive lockdown and they declared that gave him great ambitions for the future. Inspectec would like to grow the business by at least 25% year on year for the next five years, and they believe that possible also thanks to the new AlmaCrawler models coming out.
Dan Daly, Sales Director of Inspectec, said:
“We chose to be an Almac dealer as we saw the machine at Bauma 19 and was very impressed with the design and the quality. We could see that it had great potential in the Irish market and that it was a lot different to the current brands and models on the scene here. When we met with owner Andrea Artoni for the first time we were very impressed with his vision and what he wanted to achieve for the future. So we said lets be part of that future and thankfully we were accepted as a dealer and we are so looking forward to building a long lasting relationship and hopefully selling lots of machines!”
What was the context of the use of AlmaCrawler machines and what problems did they solve?
Inspectec, supplies small and medium Rental companies in Ireland with innovative AWP machines from AlmaCrawler as one of its products. The company demonstrates the machines so that its customers can fully understand their performance. What impresses most are the high levels of safety and the design of the machines to the point where they never want to return them. Among the Inspectec customers who have invested early on in the Italian company’s platforms is Central Tool and Plant Hire in Birr, Co. Offaly. The owner Aidan Larkin, believes in the versatility, technology and added value that these machines can bring to the day-to-day activities of operators at height.
An important customer for the Central Tool and Plant Hire is Limerick-based Electricity Supply Board (ESB), who needed an aerial platform for carrying out maintenance and repair work in electricity supply substations. In particular, they needed a machine that could be towed around by a Jeep and a trailer. Also it had to be versatile to it could get around the substation. The extendable tracks on the JIBBI 1250 was perfect for this job and also because you could restrict the slewing was brilliant from a safety point of view.
Des, an ESB supervisor, when talking about the Almac machine’s user experience said:
Very straight forward to use. All our guys are IPAF trained so using a MEWP is very familiar to us. We found the JIBBI 1250 to be very responsive on the controls and we are very impressed with its stability especially working on maximum outreach.

Case Study – Ormi Srl & Tecnoutensili Capararo Srl
Tecnoutensili Capararo Srl, is a historical company in Valtellina, that offers its customers a wide range of professional equipment for industry, construction and gardening.The company needed machinery suitable for a variety of contexts and in particular capable of reaching work areas with narrow access and able to operate on sloping terrain such as the mountainous Valtellina area.
Ormi Srl, AlmaCrawler’s business partner since its foundation, has always focused on the innovation and quality of the company’s 100% made in Italy products. They are unique machines capable of performing tasks in particular positions that previously could only be imagined. It is precisely for these reasons that Tecnoutensili Capararo has proposed two models capable of fully satisfying advanced requirements.
By purchasing a JIBBI 1250 EVO and a JIBBI 1670 EVO, Tecnoutensili Capararo was able to reach a part of the market that required highly specialised machines. The two JIBBI have been used for various applications such as construction sites, painting of external facades by painters, landscaping companies, gyms, using electric motors, replacing lighting systems, road maintenance and the creation of an adventure park in the mountains.
The opinion of Nicola Melè of Tecnoutensili Capararo Srl:
Nicola Melè, Rental and Training Manager, says he discovered the JIBBI 1250 at GIS in Piacenza in 2019 and was particularly impressed. “I immediately saw the great potential of the machine as it could have made a difference and could have met any of our customers’ needs. Fully supported by my owner Dr. Lorenzini Carlo, within two years, through ORMI Srl, we purchased the first two machines.”
The opinion of Graziano Guidetti of Ormi Srl:
“Since its foundation in 2013, we have chosen to become a partner of AlmaCrawler because we have always believed in the seriousness and innovative skills of the owner Andrea Artoni. In fact, our trust has been repaid with machines that are always surprising and cutting-edge. It is a company in constant development, always able to surprise us with products built with exceptional quality and unique attention to detail. As I always say, a company that is always one step ahead.
In the future, the main objective is to continue to promote the AlmaCrawler brand in Lombardy, making customers aware of the technical aspects that differentiate these tracked lifts from the common aerial platforms on the market.”
