FrançaisBriggs Equipment adds AlmaCrawler’s Jibbi and Bibi line to their fleet
First units of Jibbi 1250 EVO and Bibi 1090 EVO were delivered to Briggs Equipment by Inspectec Access Equipment Sales
Last month we visited Briggs Equipment in Ireland with our official distributor Inspectec Access Equipment Sales following the delivery of the first units of Jibbi 1250 EVO tracked boom lifts and Bibi 1090 EVO tracked scissors.
Briggs Equipment is located at 2 sites and offers more than 700 machines available across Ireland to choose from. Headquartered in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, it has been operating as Briggs Equipment since 2012.
Briggs Equipment was established in Dallas, Texas in 1886 by J.C. Weaver and C.H. Briggs and operated until relatively recently as Briggs Weaver Machinery Company, providing service for pump installations, lift trucks and material handling.
The company was acquired by Charles Sammons in 1952 and became a proper independent division of Sammons Enterprises – which is largely a financial and insurance group – in 1996, when it also dropped the Weaver name, becoming Briggs Equipment. That same year it opened its first overseas operation in Mexico, where it was appointed the Yale forklift dealer.
In 2006 it moved into the UK when it acquired the material handling division of Caterpillar dealer Finning UK which said at the time that it wanted to focus its efforts on its Hewden rental business.

Alan Blair, one of Briggs Equipment’s Business Development Managers said: “These machines are perfect for restricted applications where access is limited and the ground is not level. The 12m working height Jibbi 1250 EVO is so versatile that it can tackle very difficult terrain whilst offering height and reach capabilities with no need for outriggers, which also allows the Jibbi to be driven at height. The 10m working height Bibi 1090 EVO scissor has a large extendable deck area and boasts similar benefits for self-levelling and driving at height. Both machines are surprisingly uncomplicated to use and the safety features that allow the Jibbi and the Bibi to operate in the way they do are testament to the design and foresight of Almacrawler.
The Jibbi 1250 EVO and the Bibi 1090 EVO can both be operated on mains power which is a fantastic zero-emission solution for internal use, and with the added benefit of the track drive, they can be turned in very restricted spaces.
